Poppyseed Chicken

Grandma Walker’s recipe  this is one of the most requested dinner’s around here!

I even have her recipe card in her handwriting.  I know.  Very cool.  Anyway here is the recipe in case you can’t read it.

  • 4-6 cooked chicken breasts – broken into pieces
  • 1-2 cups sour cream
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Mix this together and put in casserole dish

  • 1 stick butter, melted   please oh please don’t ever use margarine…
  • 1 bag ritz crackers, crushed   Gma Walker likes the herb flavored, I like the Whole Wheat…duh
  • 2 tsp poppy seeds

Mix and put on top of chicken mixture.  Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Side note from Oma:  this is a great recipe to make double or triple and freeze extra casserole for when mom is sick or out of town!
